How you can help further
With 550,000 new Android users every day, this problem can only be affecting more and more people. Yet Google simply has not addressed it, and information about this problem (and how to solve it) remains frustratingly difficult to find on the internet. This site is helping, but most people don't find it until after a lot of searching - sometimes days. What this site needs is a higher Google ranking. This is where you can help me out, in one of two ways:

a. Post about it somewhere. Be it your blog, twitter, or a forum, linking to this site will help.
b. Link here from your website. Even if it's an invisible link, Google's indexing service will pick it up.

Someone has told me that they fixed it by switching off their "Fast Boot" (Settings -> Applications -> Fast Boot). My device doesn't seem to have that option. If yours does, let me know, with details of your device's make/model/carrier etc. My email address is q3[at]live.co.uk
